Easter Markets at Dongara Old Police Station

Easter, 1983. [IRME2452]

Easter Market Day at the Dongara Old Police Station was begun as a fundraiser by the Dongara Old Police Station Restoration Committee in 1983. With the establishment of the Dongara Denison Tourist Committee it was reinvigorated and additional Sunday markets were run in the 1980s and 1990s. The Tourist Committee was dissolved in 2000 and the IDHS established the Irwin District Museum and continued the Easter Market as its major annual fundraiser. The last market held at the old Police Station was Easter 2021, the Society decided to no longer host the markets instead they will be held at the Town Park under new management. Thanks to everyone for your support over the years.
